Do I need plastering or just filling?
If damage is localised — a few cracks or holes — filling and sanding is cheaper and we'll say so. Widespread cracking, blown patches or heavy texture usually mean a skim is the honest fix. Send photos and we'll tell you straight.
How soon can new plaster be painted?
Typically 4–7 days depending on conditions, and it must be mist-coated with watered-down emulsion first. We build that into the schedule so the paint finish lasts.
Can you get rid of an artex ceiling?
Yes — over-skimming is the standard, safe approach and leaves a flat modern ceiling. Older artex can contain asbestos, so we never sand it; skimming seals it safely.
